Where to shop this Christmas in Manchester

If you’ve not started your Christmas shopping yet or are still searching for that perfect gift for someone, there’s no need to panic – we’ve all been there!

It has to be said Manchester’s shopping scene is one of the best in the UK, and if you look in the right places, you can pick up a gift for even the fussiest of friends or family!

So if you fancy heading out to the shops (with a stop-off at the Christmas markets for a hot sangria and bite to eat en route) here’s our guide on where to go…

Manchester’s Christmas markets

You’ll find over 300 stalls dotted around the city across multiple sites with gift ideas to suit a range of budgets – not forgetting loads of food and drink stalls to keep you fuelled and feeling festive. Whether it’s stocking fillers, a secret Santa gift or something a little quirky you’re looking for, you’re guaranteed not to walk away empty handed. From little trinkets and handmade jewellery to exotic foods and things for the home, it has it all.

Now in its 20th year, Manchester’s Christmas Market has expanded to a new location, filling Piccadilly Gardens for the first time. There are also market sites at Market Street, Albert Square, Exchange Square, New Cathedral Street, King Street and St Ann’s Square – oh and Cathedral Gardens where the family-friendly festivities are based.

Harvey Nichols, New Cathedral Street
