Meet our General Manager Dougie Orton-Wade
1. Tell us where you’re from and what your background is.
I’m originally from Leicester and relocated to Manchester seven years ago and haven’t looked back. I’ve spent the last 15 years working in the customer service industry, which I’m hugely passionate about. I made the transition into the property sector three years ago when I took a role as residence manager of a student accommodation development, before joining The Trilogy in 2018.
2. Explain your role at The Trilogy.
My role at The Trilogy is ultimately to ensure that we provide a top-class service to residents and a safe, friendly environment for them to live in. I am also responsible for managing the building and health and safety aspects, but will also be working closely with local businesses to arrange exclusive offers and events for residents.
3. What is the best thing about your job?
The best thing is seeing genuinely happy residents who look forward to coming home every day and live a great life at The Trilogy. I’m really passionate about providing a high-quality service and this is easily achieved at The Trilogy because of its amazing offering.
4. In three words, describe life at The Trilogy.
Warm, friendly and exciting.
5. Tell us more about the lifestyle perks the development will offer.
The Trilogy is not only a fantastic place to live and relax in the beautifully designed apartments, but also a place to work, exercise, have fun and meet new people. Our goal is to make our residents lives as easy as possible as we appreciate that life can sometimes get a little hectic. We have a well-equipped 24-hour on site gym, a work space and residents lounge area with a state of the art coffee machine which is free for residents to use, parcel lockers managed by our concierge team meaning a delivery will never be missed, and also a resident app which is easy to use as an efficient communication tool giving residents a direct link to the on site management and concierge team.
6. Do you have big plans for resident events and opportunities to get together with neighbours?
I’m already planning some exciting things with lots of local businesses who are really keen to work with us, not only to provide our residents with exclusive discounts but also to hold pop-up events on site. We will be hosting regular events that are completely free for residents to attend and provide a nice opportunity for them to get to know their neighbours. Cocktail making classes, barista training, wine tasting and a personal shopping experience are just a few ideas that we have in mind.
7. What are the best things about The Trilogy’s location?
Its location is perfect in my opinion. It’s a short walk canal side to the bars and restaurants in Castlefield but also a few minutes’ walk from Cornbrook Metrolink which is an interchange station and gives direct access to Piccadilly Station, the city centre, Media City, Altrincham, Didsbury, Chorlton and Manchester Airport. Residents will have access to the whole city from their doorstep.
8. When you’re not working, where would we find you hanging out in Manchester?
If I’m in the city then I’m generally in the Northern Quarter or Castlefield with friends eating out and having some drinks in the bars and a bite to eat at a restaurant. I do also love going to Altrincham for the day as there’s an artisan style market on five days a week which has lots of great local products and some fantastic food stalls. If I’m not out with friends I’m out walking my sausage dog Martha in the local park.
9. If you could only eat at one restaurant in Manchester for the rest of your life, which would it be?
10. And if you had to choose your favourite place in Manchester, where would it be?
I’m not just being bias but Castlefield is definitely my favourite place in Manchester. It still has all of the history and heritage of the city but with amazing places to sit with friend and listen to live music.
